Supreme Court Invites Applications for 22 Vacant Posts: Download Notification

The Supreme Court of India has released an official notification inviting online applications from eligible Indian citizens for 22 vacant posts across four key cadres in the Registry. These include vacancies for Assistant Editor (Supreme Court Reports), Assistant Director (Supreme Court Museum), Senior Court Assistant (Supreme Court Museum), and Assistant Librarian.

The recruitment drive, as per advertisement no. F.6/RC-2025 dated July 25, 2025, aims to create a panel of candidates for appointment, with selection based on written examinations, interviews, and computer proficiency tests where applicable.

Post-wise Details

1. Assistant Editor (Supreme Court Reports)

  • Vacancies: 5 (Unreserved)
  • Pay: Level 12, ₹78,800/- basic pay
  • Age: 30–40 years
  • Qualification: Law degree recognized by the Bar Council of India, or membership of the English Bar, or Attorney of a High Court in India
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years’ practice as an advocate or equivalent judicial/legal research/editorial experience
  • Exam Pattern:
    • Written Test (Precis Writing & Law): 200 marks
    • Interview: 25 marks

2. Assistant Director (Ex-Cadre, Supreme Court Museum)

  • Vacancies: 1 (Unreserved)
  • Pay: Level 11, ₹67,700/- basic pay
  • Age: 30–40 years
  • Qualification: Master’s in Museology with First Class, and computer knowledge
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of museum-related research with published work
  • Exam Pattern:
    • Written Test: 100 marks
    • Computer Test (qualifying)
    • Interview: 25 marks

3. Senior Court Assistant (Ex-Cadre, Supreme Court Museum)

  • Vacancies: 2 (Unreserved)
  • Pay: Level 8, ₹47,600/- basic pay
  • Age: Up to 35 years
  • Qualification: Master’s in Museology (minimum 55%) and computer knowledge
  • Experience: 2 years in Museology research or curatorial experience
  • Exam Pattern: Same as for Assistant Director

4. Assistant Librarian

  • Vacancies: 14 (UR-10, SC-3, ST-1)
  • Pay: Level 8, ₹47,600/- basic pay
  • Age: Up to 30 years
  • Qualification: Degree in Library Science and Diploma in Computer Applications or Library Automation
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in a recognized university or law library
  • Exam Pattern:
    • Written Test (General + Library): 100 marks
    • Computer Test: 100 marks
    • Interview: 25 marks

Selection and Shortlisting

  • Assistant Editor: Top scorers in written test will be shortlisted for interviews in 1:3 ratio
  • Other Posts: Candidates will first appear for written tests, then shortlisted for computer tests (1:10 ratio), and finally interviewed (1:3 ratio)

Reservation and Relaxation

Reservations for SC/ST/OBC/Ex-Servicemen/Differently Abled/Dependents of Freedom Fighters will apply as per government norms. Age relaxation is applicable for eligible categories except for those working in other government departments.

  • Candidates working in government departments must submit an NOC at the time of interview
