The Supreme Court on Monday granted interim protection from arrest to Bollywood actor Shreyas Talpade in connection with a cheating and breach of trust case involving a society in Haryana.
A bench comprising Justices B V Nagarathna and K V Viswanathan issued a notice to the Haryana Police and other respondents while hearing Talpade’s plea seeking relief in the case. The court’s order comes as a reprieve for the actor, who has been named in an FIR filed in Sonipat district.
The case pertains to a complaint against a multi-level marketing company, with allegations of cheating and breach of trust. The FIR includes 13 individuals, including actors and brand ambassadors Shreyas Talpade and Alok Nath.

According to Additional Commissioner of Police, Murthal, Sonipat, Ajeet Singh, the investigation is ongoing, and the complaint targets the operations of the marketing firm and its alleged dealings with the public.
The Supreme Court’s notice signals the beginning of judicial scrutiny into the role of the accused in the promotional and operational activities of the company.
