Justice Sujoy Paul Transferred from Telangana High Court to Calcutta High Court

In a key judicial reshuffle, the Central government on Monday approved the transfer of Justice Sujoy Paul from the Telangana High Court to the Calcutta High Court. This decision comes pursuant to the recommendation made by the Supreme Court Collegium on May 26.

Justice Paul’s transfer marks another significant move in his judicial career. Notably, he was earlier transferred from his parent High Court in Madhya Pradesh to the Telangana High Court in 2024, following his personal request.

Justice Sujoy Paul began his legal journey after enrolling as an advocate with the Bar Council of Madhya Pradesh in 1990. Over the years, he built a distinguished practice in civil, constitutional, industrial, service, and other branches of law, representing clients before various courts.

He was elevated as a judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court at Jabalpur on May 27, 2011, and was confirmed as a permanent judge on April 14, 2014. After his transfer to the Telangana High Court, he took oath as a judge there on March 26, 2024.
