The Delhi High Court has sought a status report from the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida), in connection with the disappearance of a 14-year-old girl who has been missing from the capital since June 12.
A division bench of Justices Rajneesh Kumar Gupta and Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora issued notices to both the Noida police and the Commissioner of Delhi Police while hearing a petition filed by the girl’s father, who is seeking urgent intervention to trace and produce his daughter.
Taking note of the fact that two other girls who went missing along with the petitioner’s daughter have already been located within the jurisdiction of Gautam Buddha Nagar, the court directed the Noida police to file a comprehensive status report before the next hearing.

“This court deems it appropriate to also issue notice to the SSP Gautam Buddha Nagar, with a direction to file a status report before the next date of hearing. The investigating officer currently conducting the inquiry in Noida shall also remain present in court on the next date,” the bench observed in its June 23 order.
The court also instructed the Investigating Officer of Delhi’s Harsh Vihar Police Station, where the original missing complaint was lodged, to promptly communicate the court’s order to the Gautam Buddha Nagar police and furnish an updated report on the investigation.
The matter is now listed for further hearing on June 27.
