Supreme Court Agrees to Hear Plea of Jharkhand Judge Denied Child Care Leave

The Supreme Court agreed to hear a petition filed by a sitting Additional District Judge from Jharkhand who has challenged the denial of child care leave by the concerned authorities.

A bench comprising Chief Justice of India BR Gavai and Justice AG Masih listed the matter for hearing next week. “List on Monday,” CJI Gavai said during the brief mentioning.

The petitioner’s counsel submitted that the judge is a single parent and currently serving under the jurisdiction of the Jharkhand High Court. “She is under Jharkhand High Court. She is a single parent,” the counsel stated while urging the Court to take up the matter urgently.
