The Central Government has appointed Justice N Sesha Sayee and Justice Mohammad Faiz Alam Khan as Judicial Members of the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT). The appointments were notified by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs through an official Gazette notification issued on May 14, 2025.
These appointments have been made in exercise of powers under Section 410 of the Companies Act, 2013, read with Section 3(2) of the Tribunals Reforms Act, 2021. As per the notification, both Justices will serve a term of four years from the date they assume office, or until they attain the age of 67 years, or until further orders — whichever occurs earlier.
The notification was issued under File No. A-12023/2/2023-Ad.IV-MCA and signed by Anita Shah Akella, Joint Secretary to the Government of India.

The NCLAT, which functions as the appellate authority for orders passed by the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), plays a vital role in adjudicating matters relating to company law, insolvency, and competition law.
