Mumbai Police Arrest Chhattisgarh Lawyer for Threatening Bollywood Star Shah Rukh Khan

In a recent operation, the Mumbai police arrested a lawyer from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, identified as Faizan Khan, 42, on charges of threatening Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The arrest occurred last Tuesday after Khan allegedly demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakh and threatened to kill the actor.

The incident unfolded when a threat call was received at the Bandra police station, with the caller claiming to be outside Shah Rukh Khan’s residence, Mannat, in Bandra, Mumbai. The caller, who identified himself as ‘Hindustani,’ threatened to harm the actor if the demanded amount was not paid. Upon investigation, the call was traced back to a mobile number registered in Faizan Khan’s name.

The Raipur-based lawyer was initially summoned by the Mumbai police, but he failed to comply, leading to his arrest. He will be produced in a local court for his transit remand. Interestingly, Faizan Khan had previously reported his mobile phone stolen on November 2, coinciding with Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday, and claimed that the threatening call was made by someone else using his stolen phone.

Authorities have not disclosed any clear motive behind the threat, and the background check on Faizan revealed a petty offense earlier this year. The lawyer had also previously lodged a complaint against Shah Rukh Khan concerning a dialogue in the 1994 movie ‘Anjaam’ that referred to deer hunting.
