In a decisive legal ruling, the local court sentenced two brothers, Shiv Shankar Prajapati, aged 39, and his elder brother Daya Shankar Prajapati, aged 44, to life imprisonment for their involvement in a murder case dating back to 2020. The decision was handed down on Wednesday by Additional Sessions Judge Subodh Singh.
Government Counsel Dinesh Kumar Pandey detailed the case, noting that the incident occurred on January 22, 2020, when the Prajapati brothers attacked Mahabeer Prajapati, aged 53, with wooden sticks following a longstanding dispute, resulting in his immediate death.
Following a thorough investigation by the police, a chargesheet was filed against the brothers, leading to their conviction. Alongside the life sentences, the court imposed a fine of Rs 32,000 on each brother.
