Supreme Court Unveils Expanded Crèche Facility for Children of Staff and Lawyers

On Thursday, the Supreme Court proudly unveiled an expanded crèche facility designed to accommodate nearly 100 children of the court’s staff and lawyers. The announcement came from Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud during a session of a five-judge constitution bench that was convened to deliberate on an arbitration matter.

The Chief Justice highlighted the enhancements made to the facility, noting, “Today, we dedicated the new crèche. The earlier crèche was about 200 square meters and could accommodate about 30 children. Now, we have a 450 square meter crèche which accommodates close to 100 children for our staff and for the members of the bar.” He encouraged members of the bar to visit the new crèche, located within the administrative building complex of the apex court, describing it as a “beautiful crèche facility.”
