MLA Abbas Ansari received significant relief from the Allahabad High Court on Friday as he was granted bail in a case alleging coercion in a land deed transaction. Alongside Ansari, two others were also granted bail in the case, which involved forcibly transferring property.
The decision was made by Justice Rajbir Singh who had reserved the order on August 1 after hearing the case. The complaint against Ansari, filed by Fakhar in 2023 at the Ghazipur police station, charged that Ansari and others had forcibly transferred his land in 2012. Ansari’s legal team argued that the lawsuit was motivated by political vendetta.
The FIR related to the 2012 incident was only registered in 2023, a delay that the defense highlighted in their arguments. The cases against Ansari, along with Atif Raza and Afroz Khan, were vigorously contested by the prosecution.
