Supreme Court Designates 8 Former Chief Justice/Judges as Senior Advocate

The Supreme Court of India has designated eight former Acting Chief Justices and Judges of various High Courts as Senior Advocates. The decision was made during a Full Court Meeting on 14 August 2024. The following individuals were honoured with this designation:

1. Mr. Babu A.M. – Former Judge, High Court of Kerala

2. Mr. Gudiseva Shyam Prasad – Former Judge, High Court for the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh

3. Mr. M. Venugopal – Former Judge, Madras High Court

4. Mr. Mungeshwar Sahoo – Former Judge, High Court of Judicature at Patna

5. Mr. Prakash Naik – Former Judge, High Court of Bombay

6. Mr. Shashi Kant Gupta – Former Judge, High Court of Judicature at Allahabad

7. Mr. T. Raja – Former Acting Chief Justice, Madras High Court

8. Mr. Vivek Puri – Former Judge, High Court of Punjab and Haryana

The designations take effect from 14 August 2024.
