In a shocking turn of events, Mumbai-based lawyer Ali Kaashif Khan Deshmukh was arrested on allegations of rape, unnatural sex, and criminal intimidation, as filed by his client’s daughter. The arrest occurred on Saturday, and Deshmukh was presented before a holiday court the following day, which remanded him to three days of police custody.
Allegations of Coerced Criminal Activity and Rape
The complaint against Deshmukh, who was handling the divorce proceedings of the complainant’s mother, outlines a grave sequence of abuses. The complainant alleges that Deshmukh raped her twiceโonce in his car, where he reportedly spiked her drink, and a second time at his residence. Both incidents were allegedly filmed by Deshmukh.
Adding a layer of complexity to the case, the complainant claims that Deshmukh attempted to exploit her familyโs connections with a senior politician from Navi Mumbai for financial gain. According to her statement, Deshmukh proposed using her to extort money from the politician, and upon her refusal, he raped her again. He supposedly recorded this act and threatened to distribute the video if she did not assist him in concocting a false rape case against the politician.
Extortion and False Accusations
Under the alleged threats and coercion, the complainant acquiesced to Deshmukh’s demands. The duo purportedly managed to extort โน2.7 crore from the politician by leveraging the false rape accusation. The second instance of rape reportedly occurred when Deshmukh invited her to his home to discuss their illicit earnings.
