UPPCSJ-2022 ‘Scam’ Matter: Allahabad HC Seeks Reply From UPPSC On Petitioner’s Applications For Conversion of Writ Into PIL/Suo Moto Case and Registration of FIR/CBI Inquiry

On Friday (19.07.2024), Sr. Adv. Syed Farman Ahmad Naqvi, and Syed Ahmad Faizan and Shashwat Anand, Advocates, appearing for the petitioner, sought directions by way of Amendment and Interim/Directions Applications, to convert the writ petition into a PIL/Suo Moto case, to pass directions in public interest to ensure the fairness and sanctity of the exam, including, direction for registration of an FIR against concerned UPPSC officials and other unknown persons involved, and investigation by CBI, in the scam or foulplay in the UPPCSJ-2022 (Mains).

The same comes in the light of the admission of the UPPSC itself as noted in the High Court’s order dated 1st July, 2024, as to 50 copies being changed or tampered with, including the copies of the petitioner, Shravan Pandey.

Sr. Adv. M.N. Earlier on 08.07.2024, Advocate Shashwat Anand had entered appearance for the petitioner, and filed Supplementary affidavit to convert the writ petition into a PIL/Suo Moto case and issue directions in public interest. The UPPSC has sought time to eeply to the same and the Court by its order had restrained the parties from publishing any part of the affidavit exchanged pertaining to the award of marks by the Commission. It was also directed for that purpose, that office may not issue certified or other copy of the facts disclosed in the compliance affidavit filed by the Chairman, U.P. Public Service Commission.

Now the case has been directed to be listed in the week commencing 12th August, 2024.
