In a significant development, the Supreme Court of India granted bail to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh in the Delhi liquor scam case, providing him with substantial relief. Following the Supreme Court’s directive, Singh is set to be released from Tihar Jail today, under the conditions set by the lower court. The bail was granted with a personal bond of Rs 2 lakh.

The conditions imposed by the court for granting bail are stringent and designed to ensure that Singh does not influence the ongoing investigation or tamper with evidence. The key conditions include:

  1. Singh must keep his mobile phone’s location feature turned on whenever he is outside.
  2. He is prohibited from leaving the country and is required to surrender his passport.
  3. He is barred from making any comments regarding the Delhi liquor scam case.
  4. He cannot tamper with the evidence in any way.
  5. He is not allowed to leave Delhi-NCR without permission.

Sanjay Singh’s lawyer, Rishikesh Kumar, informed that the trial court had set a security amount of Rs 2 lakh as part of the bail conditions. The court also instructed Singh to deposit his passport and denied him permission to leave the country. The lawyer added that the court mandated Singh not to discuss his role in the case with anyone and to inform the Investigating Officer (IO) if he plans to travel outside Delhi.

The bail order is currently being processed and is expected to be sent to Tihar Jail, with Singh likely to be released by this afternoon.
