Calcutta HC Dismisses Habeas Corpus Plea after Observing its A Case Of Marital Dispute And Not Of Illegal Detention

On Wednesday, the Calcutta High Court dismissed a habeas corpus plea filed by a father for production of his children who reside with her mother, on the ground that the ordinary remedy available under Guardians and Ward Act in matters related to child custody. The Bench of Justices Tapabrata Chakraborty and Partha Sarathi Chatterjee observed
